Édouard Daladier

Édouard Daladier was a French politician and military officer born in 1884, best known for serving as Prime Minister of France before World War II. He was involved in shaping France's policies during the tumultuous 1930s, facing the challenges of rising tensions in Europe. Daladier played a key role in the Munich Agreement of 1938, which aimed to prevent war by conceding territory to Nazi Germany—though it was widely criticized later. Despite his efforts to maintain peace, France eventually entered WWII in 1939. He was detained after France's defeat in 1940 and later participated in the Vichy government.
