Dorset Culture
The Dorset Culture was a prehistoric Native American culture that existed around 800 BCE to 1300 CE in the Arctic regions of North America, including parts of Canada and Greenland. Known for their distinctive stone tools, carved ivory and bone artworks, and temporary winter villages, they adapted to cold environments with specialized craftsmanship. Dorset people are believed to have relied on hunting marine mammals like seals and whales, as well as fishing and gathering. Their culture is notable for its artistic carvings and sculptures, which provide valuable insights into their spiritual beliefs and daily life during a challenging Arctic climate.
