Dorothea Orem

Dorothea Orem was a nursing theorist who developed the Self-Care Deficit Nursing Theory. She believed that individuals can care for their own health but may need help when unable to do so due to illness, disability, or injury. Her theory emphasizes empowering people to take charge of their health by providing support only when necessary, promoting independence.
