Doric order

The Doric order is a classical style of ancient Greek architecture characterized by its sturdy and straightforward design. It features columns with plain, rounded capitals on top and no bases at the bottom. The columns have fluted (chiseled) surfaces and are typically thicker and shorter compared to other styles. The entablature above the columns includes a simple architrave, a frieze with alternating triglyphs (vertical grooves) and metopes (square panels), making the design both functional and aesthetically balanced. The Doric order conveys strength and simplicity, often used in temple construction.
