Dorgon
Dorgon was a prominent Chinese military leader and statesman during the early Qing Dynasty, serving as a regent for the young emperor Kangxi from 1661 to 1669. Originally a Manchu noble, he played a crucial role in consolidating Qing control over China after their conquest, helping to secure Manchu power and expand the empire. Dorgon's leadership was marked by effective governance and military campaigns. However, his influence diminished after his death, and he was posthumously criticized by Kangxi for his role in the early Qing administration. He remains a significant figure in Qing history for his leadership during a transitional period.
