Doping Techniques
Doping techniques involve the use of substances or methods to enhance athletic performance illegally. Athletes may use banned drugs like steroids to increase muscle mass and strength, erythropoietin (EPO) to boost red blood cell production for improved oxygen delivery, or blood manipulation to enhance endurance. Some techniques include blood doping, where athletes transfuse their own or donor blood to increase red blood cells, and the use of masking agents to hide these efforts. These methods can improve performance unfairly but pose serious health risks and are prohibited by sports authorities to maintain fair competition.
