Donald Ziraldo is a Canadian winemaker and industry pioneer known for his role in developing Ontario's wine scene. Alongside Walter Ziemlich, he co-founded Inniskillin Winery in 1984, which became famous for producing high-quality ice wines—richer, sweet wines made from grapes harvested while frozen. Ziraldo’s innovation and dedication helped elevate Ontario’s reputation in the global wine industry. He also played a significant role in establishing the Canadian Vintners Association and promoting the country's wine tourism. His work has significantly contributed to Canada's recognition as a producer of premium wines, especially those made from ice grapes.
