Dome C

Dome C is a high, icy plateau located on the interior of Antarctica, known for its extremely stable and clear atmospheric conditions. It’s considered one of the best places on Earth for astronomy because its low temperatures and minimal atmospheric turbulence allow for exceptionally clear observations of the cosmos. The plateau's altitude (around 3,200 meters or 10,500 feet) and dry, stable air reduce cloud cover and atmospheric interference, making it ideal for telescopes and scientific research related to space. Dome C’s remote, pristine environment also makes it valuable for studying climate and atmospheric processes.
