Dolomitic limestone

Dolomitic limestone is a type of sedimentary rock composed primarily of the mineral dolomite, which is calcium magnesium carbonate. It originates from ancient seas where the remains of marine organisms accumulated and transformed over millions of years. Unlike pure limestone, which is mostly calcium carbonate, dolomitic limestone contains a significant amount of magnesium, giving it unique properties such as increased hardness and durability. It's commonly used in construction, agriculture, and as a soil conditioner, and its distinctive appearance often includes shades of gray, tan, or pink.
