Dogme 95
Dogme 95 is a filmmaking movement initiated in 1995 by Danish directors Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg. It aimed to strip movies of artificial elements like special effects, elaborate sets, and genre conventions to focus solely on storytelling and character. Films following Dogme 95 adhere to a set of strict rules called the "Vow of Chastity," which includes filming on location without extra props or makeup, using natural light, and avoiding post-production techniques. The movement promotes realism and authenticity, encouraging filmmakers to create genuine stories with minimal technical influence.
