Dog Judging
Dog judging involves evaluating a dog based on how closely it matches the breed's standard, which describes the ideal traits for that breed, including structure, coat, movement, and temperament. Judges compare each dog to this standard, considering quality, balance, and overall appearance. The goal is to recognize dogs that best exemplify their breed’s ideal characteristics. Dogs are scored in different categories, and the highest-scoring dogs are selected for awards, such as Best in Show. Judging requires knowledge of breed standards and experience in assessing conformation, ensuring fair and consistent evaluation across participants.
