Dobrava virus
Dobrava virus is a type of hantavirus found mainly in Europe, transmitted to humans through contact with infected rodents, particularly certain mice species. It can cause a serious illness called hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), which affects the kidneys and blood vessels, leading to symptoms like fever, muscle pain, blood in urine, and kidney failure in severe cases. While rare, Dobrava virus infections can be serious, so minimizing contact with rodent droppings and urine, especially in areas with rodent infestation, is important for prevention.
