Diving Disorders

Diving disorders are health issues caused by changes in pressure experienced during underwater dives. The most common is decompression sickness, or "the bends," which occurs when nitrogen bubbles form in the bloodstream due to rapid ascent. Another is oxygen toxicity, resulting from breathing high-pressure oxygen, which can harm the lungs or nervous system. Barotrauma involves injuries from pressure differences, such as ear or sinus pain. Proper training, gradual ascent, and adherence to safety guidelines help prevent these conditions. Recognizing symptoms early and seeking immediate medical attention are crucial for safe diving experiences.
