Diverticulosis
Diverticulosis is a condition where small pouches, called diverticula, form in the wall of the large intestine (colon). These pouches develop gradually and are often caused by increased pressure within the colon, usually due to factors like low fiber diet or aging. Many people with diverticulosis experience no symptoms, but it can sometimes lead to complications such as inflammation or infection if the pouches become inflamed or rupture. Management typically involves dietary changes, like increasing fiber intake, to support healthy bowel movements and reduce the risk of complications.
