DIVA model

The DIVA (Directions Into Velocities of Articulators) model is a computer-based simulation that explains how humans learn and produce speech. It integrates brain processes involved in planning sounds, controlling speech movements, and listening for feedback to correct errors. Essentially, it models how we develop speaking skills, adjust our speech in real-time, and eventually speak fluently without conscious effort. The DIVA model helps researchers understand speech disorders and develop therapies by illustrating the complex coordination between brain, speech muscles, and hearing during speech production.
