Dispositional attribution
Dispositional attribution is when we explain someone’s behavior by looking at their personality, character, or inner traits. For example, if someone is late, we might think they are irresponsible or disorganized rather than considering external factors like traffic. It’s a way of understanding actions based on who they are inside, rather than the situation they’re in. This type of attribution helps us make sense of people’s consistent behaviors over time, assuming their actions reflect their true nature.
