Discharge Review Boards

Discharge Review Boards are official panels that assess the circumstances surrounding the discharge of military personnel. When a service member is discharged—especially if it’s under undesirable terms like "bad conduct"—they can appeal the decision to a board. This board reviews the individual’s service record, the reasons for discharge, and any supporting evidence. Their purpose is to determine if the discharge was justified or if it should be upgraded to a more favorable status, which can affect benefits and future opportunities for the service member.
