Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE)

Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) are small businesses owned and operated by individuals who face social and economic barriers, such as minorities or women, that have historically limited their participation in government contracting and large projects. The DBE program aims to promote equal opportunities by helping these businesses compete for contracts on transportation, infrastructure, and other public-project opportunities. Certification as a DBE provides access to specialized programs, resources, and set-aside contracts intended to foster fair competition and economic growth for businesses from underrepresented groups.
