Direwolves

Direwolves are a mythical, extinct species of large wolves often depicted in fantasy literature. They are characterized by their formidable size, strength, and pack behavior, symbolizing loyalty and power. Historically, similar large wolf species existed during the Ice Age, known as dire wolves (Canis dirus), which were larger than modern wolves. In popular culture, especially in the "Game of Thrones" series, direwolves are revered as noble, protective companions to noble families. While real direwolves are extinct, their image persists as symbols of primal wilderness and formidable survival instincts.
