dipole magnet
A dipole magnet is a type of magnet with two opposite poles—north and south—that create a magnetic field between them. This magnetic field is an invisible force that can attract or repel other objects containing magnetic materials or influence electric currents. Dipole magnets are common in many devices, like refrigerator magnets, electric generators, and motors. They work because their magnetic field results from the alignment of tiny magnetic regions inside the material, known as magnetic domains, which collectively produce a North and South pole.
