Dipole antennas

A dipole antenna is a simple type of antenna used to transmit or receive radio signals. It consists of two metal rods or wires aligned end-to-end, usually about half the wavelength of the signal it handles. When electricity flows into one end, it creates radio waves that radiate outward from the antenna. Similarly, it can catch incoming radio waves and convert them back into electrical signals. Dipole antennas are widely used because they are effective, easy to construct, and form the basis for many other antenna designs.
