Diode
A diode is an electronic component that allows current to flow in only one direction, acting like a one-way valve for electricity. It is made from semiconductor materials, usually silicon, and has two terminals: anode and cathode. When connected properly in a circuit, a diode permits current to pass from the anode to the cathode but blocks it in the reverse direction. This property is useful in converting alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC), protecting circuits from voltage spikes, and signal demodulation. Diodes are fundamental components in many electronic devices, ensuring current flows safely and correctly.
