DIME (Diplomatic, Information, Military, Economic) model
The DIME (Diplomatic, Information, Military, Economic) model outlines the main tools a country uses to influence others and pursue its foreign policy goals. "Diplomatic" involves negotiations and dialogue; "Information" encompasses communication and strategic messaging; "Military" includes defense and force projection; and "Economic" involves trade, sanctions, and financial incentives. Together, these tools allow a nation to shape international relations, win allies, or counter threats effectively and holistically. The model helps officials plan and coordinate different strategies to achieve desired outcomes on the global stage.
