Digital dermatofibroma
Digital dermatofibroma is a benign skin growth that typically appears on fingers or toes. It looks like a small, firm bump and may be pink, brown, or skin-colored. This condition is caused by an abnormal buildup of fibrous tissue, often following minor injury. While usually harmless, it may sometimes cause slight discomfort or tenderness. Digital dermatofibromas are diagnosed through clinical examination and sometimes a biopsy. Treatment isn't always necessary but can involve removal if the lesion is bothersome or cosmetically concerning. Overall, it’s a benign condition with an excellent prognosis.
