Diggers Movement
The Diggers Movement, also known as the True Levellers, was a group of 17th-century English activists around 1649-1650 who aimed to create communal landownership and promote social equality during the English Revolution. They believed that land should be shared among all, not owned by wealthy landowners, and sought to establish common ownership of land and resources. Their efforts included planting communal farms and advocating for wider democratic participation. Although their direct actions were short-lived, their ideas influenced later social and political movements promoting equality and collective ownership.
