Digester Technology

Digester technology refers to a process that breaks down organic waste, like food, manure, or plant material, using bacteria in an oxygen-free environment. This biological process produces biogas (mainly methane and carbon dioxide), which can be used as renewable energy for heating, electricity, or fuel. Additionally, it creates a nutrient-rich digestate that can be used as fertilizer. This technology reduces waste, lowers greenhouse gas emissions, and promotes sustainable energy use while efficiently recycling organic materials.
