Differential Survival
Differential survival refers to the concept that, in a population, individuals with certain traits are more likely to survive and reproduce than those without these traits. This advantage depends on how well an organism's characteristics help it cope with its environment. Over time, these advantageous traits become more common because the individuals with them are more likely to pass them on to the next generation. Essentially, differential survival is a key mechanism of evolution, driving changes in populations based on which individuals are better suited to their surroundings.
