Dictatorships

A dictatorship is a form of government where one person, the dictator, holds almost complete control over the country. Unlike democracies, where power is shared and leaders are elected by citizens, dictatorships restrict political freedoms, often using force or censorship to maintain authority. The leader makes laws and decisions without input from the public or other branches of government. Civil rights and opposition are usually limited or suppressed. Dictatorships can arise through force or by consolidating power in a very short time, and they often lack the protections for individual freedoms found in democratic systems.
