Dictatorship of the proletariat

The dictatorship of the proletariat is a concept from Marxist theory describing a transitional state where the working class (proletariat) holds political power after overthrowing the ruling class (bourgeoisie). Its purpose is to dismantle existing class structures, prevent counter-revolution, and establish a classless society.
