Dick Howser

Dick Howser was a talented baseball player and manager best known for leading the Kansas City Royals to their first World Series championship in 1985. As a player, he was a skilled shortstop and key contributor to the Royals’ success in the early 1980s. Sadly, Howser’s career was cut short when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1986, which led to his passing in 1987 at age 51. He is remembered not only for his achievements on the field but also for his leadership, integrity, and the impact he made on the sport and the Royal’s franchise.
