Dichromacy
Dichromacy is a type of color vision deficiency where a person has only two functional types of color receptors (cones) in their eyes instead of three. This limits their ability to distinguish certain colors. For example, someone with dichromacy might see blues and yellows clearly but have difficulty differentiating between reds and greens. It is a hereditary condition, affecting a small percentage of the population, and does not cause blindness, just reduced color perception. There are different types of dichromacy depending on which cone type is missing or non-functioning.
