Diaspora Jewry

Diaspora Jewry refers to Jewish communities living outside of Israel. After the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, Jews dispersed across the globe due to wars, persecution, and economic opportunities, forming vibrant, diverse communities in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and later the Americas. Despite geographic separation, these communities maintained shared religious, cultural, and historical ties. Throughout history, Diaspora Jewry has contributed significantly to local societies while preserving their identity, traditions, and connection to Israel. Today, the term highlights the global presence and enduring resilience of Jewish life worldwide outside their ancestral homeland.
