Diamond production
Diamond production begins deep within the Earth's mantle, where high pressure and temperature transform carbon into crystallized diamonds. These precious stones are brought closer to the surface through volcanic eruptions that create kimberlite pipes. Miners then extract ore from these pipes, and skilled processes like crushing and sorting separate diamonds from other materials. Some diamonds are mined directly from these natural sources, while others are produced synthetically using high-pressure, high-temperature methods or chemical vapor deposition. Synthetic diamonds mirror natural ones in structure and quality and are often used in industrial applications or jewelry.
