Diabetes Type 1

Type 1 diabetes is a chronic condition in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. Insulin is a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels by allowing glucose to enter cells for energy. Without enough insulin, blood sugar levels rise, leading to symptoms like frequent urination, increased thirst, and fatigue. This form of diabetes usually develops early in life and requires lifelong management with insulin therapy, monitoring blood sugar levels, diet, and lifestyle adjustments to prevent complications. It is different from Type 2 diabetes, which involves insulin resistance rather than a lack of insulin production.
