Di Rupo Government
The Di Rupo Government was Belgium’s federal government from 2011 to 2014, led by Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo. It was a coalition of six political parties representing different regions and languages—mainly Dutch-speaking, French-speaking, and German-speaking communities. This coalition managed diverse interests and aimed to address economic, social, and institutional challenges in Belgium, including reforming governance and managing regional tensions. As a broad, consensus-driven government, it reflected Belgium’s complex political landscape, striving for stability and unity amid linguistic and regional diversity.
