
Dhu Nuwas (King of Himyar)
Dhu Nuwas was a king of the Himyarite Kingdom in southern Arabia during the early 6th century CE. Originally a Jewish ruler, he is known for consolidating his power and supporting the Jewish community in the region. His reign is marked by religious tensions, including conflicts with Christian King Abraha of Yemen. Dhu Nuwas's policies and battles played a significant role in the region's history, as they influenced the complex interplay of religion, politics, and culture in late antiquity Yemen. His rule ended when the Byzantine Empire intervened, leading to his downfall.
