Dhatu (elements)

Dhatu, in traditional Indian philosophy and medicine, refers to the fundamental elements or tissues of the body that support structure and function. There are seven primary Dhatus: Rasa (fluid and nourishment), Rakta (blood), Mamsa (muscle), Meda (fat), Asthi (bone), Majja (marrow and nervous tissue), and Shukra (reproductive tissue). These tissues develop sequentially and sustain physical health. Imbalances or toxins affecting Dhatus can lead to health issues. Understanding Dhatus helps in diagnosing and treating various conditions by maintaining the harmony and proper functioning of these essential bodily elements.
