DFID (Department for International Development, UK)
The Department for International Development (DFID) was a part of the UK government responsible for administering overseas aid and development efforts. Its goal was to help reduce poverty, support economic growth, and improve health, education, and governance in developing countries. DFID collaborated with international organizations, governments, and charities to promote sustainable development and address global issues like hunger, disease, and inequality. In 2020, it was merged into the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), combining diplomatic and aid responsibilities to better coordinate international efforts.
