Deutschlandlied
The "Deutschlandlied," or "Song of Germany," is the national anthem of Germany, written by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben in 1841. Its lyrics emphasize unity, freedom, and national pride. Originally, it had three stanzas, but today only the third stanza is officially used as the anthem. The melody was composed by Joseph Haydn. The song has historical significance, reflecting Germany's evolving national identity over time, and serves as a symbol of patriotism and collective heritage for Germans today.
