Deuterocanonical books
Deuterocanonical books are writings included in the Catholic and Orthodox Bibles but considered non-canonical by most Protestant traditions. They were written between the Old Testament's last books and the New Testament, and provide additional historical, wisdom, and theological insights. These texts, such as Tobit, Judith, and 1 and 2 Maccabees, are accepted as authoritative by some Christian denominations but are often viewed as valuable historical or religious literature rather than on the same level as the core canon. Their status reflects differences in how various Christian traditions interpret and establish their biblical canon.
