Deuterium Oxide
Deuterium oxide, commonly known as heavy water, is a form of water where the hydrogen atoms are replaced with a heavier isotope called deuterium. This makes the water slightly denser and heavier than regular water. Heavy water is used in certain types of nuclear reactors as a moderator to slow down neutrons, allowing sustained nuclear reactions. It looks and behaves like ordinary water but has different physical properties due to the presence of deuterium. It is safe to handle in small quantities but is primarily utilized for scientific and industrial purposes rather than everyday use.
