Depth cues
Depth cues are clues our brain uses to perceive the three-dimensional space around us. They help us judge how far away objects are, even in a flat image or a two-dimensional surface. There are two main types: binocular cues, which involve both eyes working together—like the slight difference in images seen by each eye (stereopsis)—and monocular cues, which can be perceived with one eye, such as size, overlap, and perspective. These cues work together seamlessly, allowing us to navigate and interact with our environment accurately.
