Depositors
Depositors are individuals or entities that place money into a financial institution, such as a bank, for safekeeping and potential earning of interest. When you deposit funds, you're essentially lending money to the bank, which may then use those funds to make loans or investments. Depositors trust that their money will be protected and accessible when needed. Common types include savings account holders, checking account users, and certificate of deposit holders. Their relationship with the bank is based on mutual trust, and banks are regulated to ensure the safety of depositor funds.
