Department for International Development (DFID)

The Department for International Development (DFID) was a UK government department responsible for managing aid and development efforts around the world. Its goal was to reduce poverty, support economic growth, and improve living conditions in developing countries through funding projects, partnerships, and policy initiatives. In 2020, DFID was merged into the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) to streamline UK foreign aid and international development efforts. Essentially, it worked to help poorer nations build sustainable futures and foster global stability through targeted aid and development programs.
