Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS)

The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) was a UK government department responsible for supporting economic growth, business development, innovation, and skills training. It aimed to help companies expand, create jobs, and improve the workforce’s skills. BIS also worked on policies to promote entrepreneurship, research, and development to boost the economy. In 2016, its functions were merged into the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
