Dental Pulp

Dental pulp is the soft, living tissue located in the center of a tooth, enclosed within the hard outer layer called enamel and dentin. It contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue, which supply nutrients and sensation to the tooth. The pulp plays a vital role in tooth development, providing the necessary nutrients and contributing to the formation of dentin. When the pulp becomes inflamed or infected due to decay or injury, it can cause pain and may require treatment such as a root canal to remove the damaged tissue and preserve the tooth.
