Density Hypothesis

The Density Hypothesis suggests that the structural complexity or diversity of things like languages, ecosystems, or cultural traits tends to be higher in areas where their overall presence is more concentrated or dense. In other words, where a particular phenomenon is common or densely found, there’s often more variety and complexity within it. For example, regions with many languages tend to have more dialects and linguistic features. This idea helps explain why diversity tends to increase in areas with higher overall density of the subject being studied, highlighting a relationship between quantity and complexity.
