Density Bonus

A Density Bonus is a policy allowing developers to build more housing units than usually permitted under zoning laws, typically in exchange for including affordable housing in their projects. For instance, if a developer plans to build an apartment complex, they might be granted permission to add extra units if a certain percentage of those units are set aside for low-income residents. This approach aims to encourage the creation of affordable housing in areas facing housing shortages while allowing developers to maximize their investments.
