Denny Aqueduct

The Denny Aqueduct was a historic 19th-century structure built in Scotland to transport drinking water from the River Carron in Denny to nearby towns, including Falkirk. Designed as a canal-like conduit supported by arches, it used gravity to move water efficiently across a distance, improving public health and sanitation. Engineered during the Industrial Revolution, it played a key role in urban infrastructure, demonstrating advancements in civil engineering and water management of its time. Although no longer in use, the aqueduct remains a significant example of early engineering efforts to supply clean water to growing communities.
