
Denis of Paris
Denis of Paris is a Christian saint and martyr believed to have been the first bishop of Paris, living around the 3rd century. According to tradition, he is honored for his devout faith and for spreading Christianity in the region. Denis was martyred during a period of Roman persecution, and his remains were said to be buried on the hill now known as Montmartre. Over time, he became the patron saint of Paris, symbolizing spiritual perseverance and protection for the city. His feast day is celebrated on October 9th.
